Prosecutors said a son and his father used a tracking device to locate their stolen truck; the son then shot the thief as he fled, according to court documents.
OAKLAND — A man police said first lied about his involvement has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting last month of a man suspected of stealing his father’s truck, according to authorities and court records.
His father, Mario Campos Caceres, 52, is charged with being an accessory after the fact in that he observed the shooting and aided his son to avoid arrest and prosecution, court records say. The truck had a tracking device and the father and son were able to trace it to a parking lot in the 4100 block of International Boulevard.
