The Lititz Borough Police department made a whole lot of cents this past week... literally.
A dime a dozen is an understatement after the Lititz Borough Police Department received a unique payment for a parking fine.
The driver, who the department didn’t identify, opted to pay a $15 parking ticket with dimes - 150 of them. Lititz Police posted a video on Facebook of the mailed ticket on Jan. 11 thanking the sender for paying the fine. In the video, dimes were seen spilling out the side of the mailed ticket with 13 stamps. Lititz Police shared a list of facts about the package in the description.
“With the nationwide coin shortage still in full swing, you went above and beyond the call of duty by making sure our supply of US 10-cent pieces is bounteous,” the police department wrote. “The fact that you, Mr. Parking Ticket Receiver, took the time to think of us while paying your parking ticket speaks volumes to your character as a human.”has nearly 500 comments and over 120,000 views.
