Mas Coffee is expected to open a quarter-mile down the street on Feb. 7, 2023.
Sarah BlaskovichFor the first time since Mas Coffee Co. opened in 2019 in downtown Grand Prairie, its customers will be able to order a latte or breakfast taco “without the noise — or, maybe, without the smell of barbecue,” says co-owner Christan Zavala.
After Christan and Joe Zavala were already moving forward with plans to purchase a building at 105 W. Main St. in Grand Prairie, Christan realized it was just the right size for a coffee shop, with an office for Joe in the back. The Zavalas purchased a one-story, 1940s-era building that will have room for customers to sit and work — a first for Mas Coffee. Christan will use the shop as a test site, as she eventually hopes to open five Mas Coffees in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The menu at the new coffee shop will not change. Beyond espresso drinks made with Fort Worth’s Avoca coffee beans, Mas’s breakfast options include brisket, egg and cheese tacos and a daily special.
