California-based Skyryse has teamed up with the U.S. Army to enhance Black Hawk helicopter functionality. The partnership aims to reduce pilot training time, increase aircraft interoperability, and introduce optionally-piloted capabilities. Skyryse's universal operating system for flight (SkyOS) will be integrated into the helicopters to improve safety, simplicity, and operational efficiency.
A California-based company has partnered with the U.S. Army to develop solutions that can reduce the time taken to train the pilots and add autonomy to Black Hawk helicopters. Skyryse, which is the creator of the world’s first universal operating system for flight , has signed an agreement with the U.S. Army.
Under the CRADA, the partnership will also conduct joint testing and validation, ensuring that the new solutions meet the rigorous standards required for Army aviation, according to a press release.The company’s SkyOS reportedly delivers unprecedented capabilities to any aircraft by seamlessly merging deterministic expert AI-based software with a state-of-the-art fly-by-wire backbone and a fighter jet-like simplified control system.
