Shaker Heights cemetery restoring 57 headstones at 200-year old historic site
CLEVELAND , Ohio - A cemetery in Shaker Heights is restoring 57 headstones after being awarded thousands in funds.
The City of Shaker Heights has a rich history and dedication to planning and preservation has been a revered tradition in Shaker Heights for over 100 years. Residents care deeply about historic preservation and telling the stories of the people who once lived here. The City is currently restoring 57 gravestones designated as urgent priorities in the Plan, to prevent further damage and deterioration and ensure their long-term preservation. This project will prioritize the restoration of gravestones that are in urgent need of repair to prevent further damage or potential harm to visitors.
