"We have two windows damaged on the 43rd floor," SFFD's Jonathan Baxter told SFGATE over the phone."One is completely broken out, and a second has damage. We're working with building management to secure that for the public."
The four blocks surrounding the 53-story building have been closed, and surrounding businesses evacuated. "We do not have an ETA on when we may reopen the streets and reoccupy the businesses down there," Baxter said, adding that no injuries have been reported. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency announced that the California cable car line had been suspended due to the street closures.
A video from the ground shared by NBC reporter Sergio Quintana appeared to show a broken window pane on the 43rd floor.
