The latest severe weather outbreak will continue into Wednesday in parts of the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and Mississippi Valley and South with damaging winds, hail and tornadoes.. In northern Arkansas, the National Weather Service warned of "a large and extremely dangerous tornado" in parts of Izard, Sharp, Fulton and Randolph Counties between 2 and 4 a.m. CT.
There were just over 200 reports of severe weather received by National Weather Service offices from Tuesday's severe weather, most of which were reports of large hail. Clusters of severe thunderstorms are ongoing from southern Wisconsin and Lower Michigan to Texas. A 79 mph wind gust was measured in Lee County, Illinois as the line of t-storms rolled through early Wednesday morning.The storm system will produce more severe weather as it pushes farther east on Wednesday, especially in parts of the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and mid-South, including Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis and Memphis.
At least isolated or scattered severe thunderstorms are also possible in parts of the Mid-Atlantic states Thursday afternoon. Damaging thunderstorm wind gusts and large hail are possible from the Delaware Valley of eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey to Virginia and western North Carolina.Severe storms Tuesday morning and early afternoon produced widespread hail through northern Illinois along with damaging winds and at least one tornado.
