There was an “enhanced risk” of severe thunderstorms near and southeast of I-95 on Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service in Mount Holly said. Areas above I-95 were at a slight right of severe thunderstorms, with the northernmost point of the state only at a marginal risk.The storm was expected to travel from west to east between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., the service said.
Damaging wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour, large hail, and localized flash flooding were possible, forecasters cautioned.Monday’s storms were set to follow a rainy Sunday, which saw flood advisories and warnings issues across several counties.
