Strong to severe storms are possible for San Antonio and the surrounding area starting this afternoon as a front moves across the region, according to the National Weather Service.

San Antonio, along with Austin and the Hill Country, is at higher risk than some other portions of South Central Texas. Although the risk is slight, the storms could produce 2-inch-diameter hail and 60-mph winds that have the potential to cause damage, according to the NWS. The storms are expected to move through the area between 4 p.m. and midnight.The chances of rain continue through Wednesday night. Forecasters are predicting multiple bouts of rain that each could bring up to 3 inches of rain, with “isolated higher totals possible.” Rainfall is most likely late Monday into Tuesday.S.A.
