Dan Erickson, the showrunner for Apple TV+'s hit mystery series Severance, hints at major revelations about the Eagan family in the upcoming season 2. The season 1 finale unveiled a shocking truth: Helly R, played by Britt Lower, is the daughter of Lumon Industries CEO Jame Eagan. Erickson reveals that viewers can expect to delve deeper into the Eagans' motivations and past, drawing upon an extensive document detailing their history with Lumon.
Severance showrunner Dan Erickson teases the Eagan family reveals coming in season 2 following that Helly surprise in the season 1 finale. First releasing on Apple TV+ in 2022, the hit mystery show is now gearing up to continue the story of Mark Scout (Adam Scott) and his coworkers at Lumon Industries who have had their work memories surgically separated from their personal memories.
The Severance season 1 finale ends with several big reveals, including that Helly (Britt Lower) is actually the daughter of Lumon CEO Jame Eagan. In a recent interview with SFX Magazine (via GamesRadar+), Erickson comments on how the Eagan family will factor into Severance season 2. According to the creator, viewers can expect some new information to come to light regarding exactly what the Eagans' goals are, revealing that he created a lengthy document that charts the family's entire history with Lumon. Check out Erickson's comment below: 'We're going to see some of their plans and machinations coming to fruition, or nearing fruition. It was vitally important that we know them, and that we know them well. I have what has become a many, many page document that's essentially a show bible for us, that keeps the lore of the show. 'We know the exact year that each Eagan CEO took power and which technological advancements happened under their watch. There's inter-family drama that I've built for them over the course of the generations that will probably never be on the show. But I know it, which helps me. Ironically, having it that rigidly figured out gives us freedom, because we know the sandbox, and we know all the toys that are in the sandbox, and now we can play.' What Erickson's Comments Mean For Severance Season 2 Helly Isn't The Only Character Who Experiences An Epiphany In The Season 1 Finale For every mystery that Severance season 1 solved, more questions emerge
