The robbers were traveling in a dark-colored sedan, and in some of the robberies, the robbers battered the victims.
Several people were victims of armed robbers overnight in North Side neighborhoods including one victim in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood, Chicago police said.
A 78-year-old man was outside taking a walk when he was approached by six robbers who demanded his belongings. He complied but several of the robbers struck the victim before fleeing in a dark sedan, police said.The victim was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was listed in good condition, police said.
A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were walking in the 4000 block of North Lincoln Avenue when they were approached by four robbers armed with handguns whom demanded the victims belongings. They complied and the robbers fled in a dark-colored sedan, police said. The crew of robbers demanded her personal belongings and she complied, but one of the robbers hit her on the head before fleeing in a dark sedan. The woman refused medical help when an ambulance was called to the scene, police said.
