A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with rape.The incident was reported to have happened in Lambeth, south London, according to a statement from the force.He is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court later today.
The officer is attached to the Central North Command Unit but has been suspended from the force pending the investigation.The force’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed of the development.A Met spokesperson said the victim is being supported by specialist officers.
