WAVERLY, Ohio (WKRC) - The families of eight people murdered in Pike County may get some resolution Friday. Jake Wagner and his mother, Angela, are scheduled to finally be sentenced for their roles in the 2016 massacre.in exchange for the prosecution dropping the death penalty specification against all four family members. In exchange, they agreed to testify against the remaining two Wagner family members charged in the case, George and Billy Wagner.
Jake and Angela did testify against George, although their testimony was not allowed to be broadcast.A jury convicted George Wagner and sentenced him to life in prison without parole. Jake is expected to receive the same. Angela, who admitted to her involvement in the planning and cover-up but who did not kill any of the victims, is expected to get at least 30 years in prison.The prosecution lost a bid last month to replace visiting judge, Jonathan Hein. Judge Hein ruled Billy's trial should be moved out of Pike County. He also ordered Angela and Jake's sentencing be scheduled before they testified at Billy's trial,The four Wagners allegedly plotted to murder some of the Rhoden family to ensure they got custody of Jake Wagner and Hanna Rhoden's child together. Some of the victims were apparently in the wrong place at the wrong time
