Cleveland Police Detective Mark Bahrijczuk was shot in the arm and thigh at close range

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The teenager who shot a Cleveland police detective in March 2023 will be sentenced by Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge Michael Shaughnessy Wednesday.

Cleveland Police Detective Mark Bahrijczuk was shot on March 14, 2023 in the 2300 block of Cedar Ave. According to police, the detective and other officers were in the area of E. 28th Street and Cedar Avenue investigating the ongoing thefts of Kia and Hyundai vehicles.
