EFC Gases & Advanced Materials plans to build a facility focused on chemical synthesis operations with an administration building, logistics hub and laboratory, among other functions. The Massachusetts-based company serves both the semiconductor and supply chain industries.The city of McGregor sold a 195-acre parcel to EFC for the development, while McLennan County, where Waco is the county seat, is providing an undisclosed amount of financial support.
Semiconductor giant Texas Instruments, based in Dallas, is also underway with an approximately $30 billion project in Sherman set to create 3,000 jobs.
