The Only Murders in the Building actress received her very first Best Actress in a Comedy Series nomination, marking a new milestone in Gomez’s career. Naturally, she called out the honor on her Instagram Story, sharing a single emoji—a smiley face with a tear—to convey her joy.
Gomez’s Emmy nods come after the star won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival this May, along with her Emilia Pérez co-stars Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofia Gascón, and Adriana Paz. Gomez posted her reaction when she learned the news, writing,“I’m so excited!”Gomez spoke to Rolling Stone in March about shifting her focus from music to acting.
