And according to new research, being by the seaside offers particular benefits in that regard both for those who live there and those visiting. With that in mind, we're suggesting a trip to one of Lancashire's particularly picturesque coastal spots for a walk this weekend. Knott End is a tiny coastal village but it has lots to offer even in the colder months. For those wanting to use public transport, buses run regularly to Knott End from Blackpool, Garstang and Lancaster and Fleetwood, and there is also a seasonal ferry crossing to Fleetwood. The ice cream parlour is hugely popular is sunnier weather and the coastal views will take your breath away just as much as the coastal wind.
