Scooter-rider struck by pickup, killed in El Cajon [Breaking]
A 57-year-old man riding scooter died after he was struck by a pickup and trapped underneath it in El Cajon mid-morning Wednesday, police said.
The crash happened about 10:40 a.m. Wednesday on El Cajon Boulevard east of Richfield Avenue, police said in a news release. According to police, the rider was struck by a 2000 Dodge Ram pickup truck, and trapped underneath the vehicle. Good Samaritans used floor jacks to lift the truck off the injured man. He was unconscious when police arrived. The rider was take to a hospital, where he died.The pickup driver stayed and cooperated with investigators. Police said he indicated that the rider had turned into the path of the truck.
