NEW: Schools in Boulder, Brighton, Aspen and Cañon City all received various threats today, prompting lockdowns and shelter-in-place orders

Brighton police are securing the high school after a “threatening call” was made to dispatch, the Brighton Police Department said.

There is a large police presence at Brighton High School after dispatch received a threatening call from an unknown person. Other schools in the area are on secure while police work to determine if the threat is credible. Please avoid the area at this time. Updates to follow.Before police lifted the secure status at Brighton High School at 9:45 after finding no credible threats, other schools in Brighton briefly were also put on secure status, police said.

Boulder High School is on lockdown after the unconfirmed report of an active shooter. Police said they have not found any victims.
