1st Des Mangus basketball tournament featured three age group brackets: 9-11 years old, 12-16 years old, and 17-24 years old.Basketball is nothing new to Des, who has volunteered in the Harrisburg community for more than 40 years. Specifically, he was integral in the Allison Hill neighborhood from the early 1980s ′s, through the 1990s ′s.
In 2016, the basketball courts at Reservoir Park were dedicated to Mangus’s honor, with a mural at the center court.
