A new policy granting more power to parents over their child\u0027s exposure to sex education in Sask. schools is drawing pushback on its legality.

Broda postulated that if the rule applies to medical care, it could be equally relevant to pronoun preferences and sexual health education.

Asked if the Ministry of Education would consider alterations or walk back the policy before school begins in September in the wake of critique, a spokesperson said “no further policy changes are being considered at this time.” In a statement issued immediately following Tuesday’s reveal, the Canadian Civil Liberties Association has already raised that issue.
