A relative said the teen was 15 years old. He eventually surrendered to police, and is expected to face charges.
According to SAPD officials, an unidentified teenager shot at officers arriving to the area of Rigsby and South W.W. White just before 8 p.m. after receiving a call for a disturbance. When police arrived, officials said, they saw a man trying to calm down his young son, who was angry and armed with a pistol.
The father, who said the teen was 15 years old, begged police not to return fire. SAPD says the officers stood their ground before the teen eventually surrendered. He's expected to face charges in juvenile court.
