Police were attempting to execute an arrest warrant after the suspect hit a woman with his vehicle, sending her to the hospital in critical condition.
SAN ANTONIO — A 42-year-old man was shot and killed by police after he tried to hit an officer with his car while the officer was trying to execute an arrest warrant over the weekend, according to SAPD.arrived to a home in the 8600 block of Cheviot Heights, on the northwest side, to find a man whom SAPD Chief William McManus said was involved in an assault about six hours prior. That suspect, later identified as Sachin Kumar Sahoo, allegedly hit a woman with his car Saturday afternoon.
Officers secured a warrant for the Sahoo's arrest, but when they arrived hours later to take him into custody, he tried to reverse between two police vehicles—and hit one of the SAPD officers in the process. Sahoo was hit once in the chest and died at the scene, despite efforts from first responders to revive him.
The officer allegedly hit by Sahoo was taken to a hospital for treatment, while another was treated at the scene. Since going on the air in 1950,has strived to be the best, most trusted news and entertainment source for generations of San Antonians.
