The cleanup from the storm has started for Robyn Cox and her family. Some estimates say three inches in about an hour, and eventually enough to fill Cox’s basement to the ceiling. It’s a similar story for many people in the city.

“I’ve marked homes that have damage,” said city council member Alyson Aagard Strait while pointing to a map of the city that she had marked with red marker. “And these are the ones we know have major damage.”Monsoon storm bringing more risks for afternoon thunderstorms, possible flooding Before people could even finish cleaning from Sunday’s storm, it started pouring again Monday. They’re worried if it doesn’t stop, it could happen all over again.

But before everyone got hit with the downpour, people like Aagard Strait were loading and dropping off the sandbags to protect the damaged homes from the heavy rain.“We’ve had citizens reaching out saying, ‘I need help.’ and citizens reaching out saying, ‘where can I help?’” she said.
