Homeless living in RV park costs San Francisco $12,000 per month
Inside a collection of luxe homes now for sale in prime Napa ValleySan Francisco is pouring millions of dollars into an RV park for the homeless, while young people trying to get a break in their careers are reduced to living in 4-feet high by 3.5-feet wide ‘pod’ spaces for $700 a month.
“They bring us food, but the food is not something I can really eat because I have no teeth. Even my dog won’t even eat it.” The security services wouldn’t let The Post inside the park, but drone footage shows it currently houses 30 rusty RVs parked in three rows.“I actually can’t afford to pay for a $3,000 apartment, but there are some people sleeping in the pods who can, but choose to live here anyway. It is about cost and quality,” Lewis told The Post.
The pod-living environment has drawn some criticism on social and mainstream media, with some calling the steel and wood bunk bedsBrownstone co-founder James Stallworth told The Post many of the renters are students, researchers and entrepreneurs who are breaking into the world of Artificial Intelligence and can’t afford median rents in the city.
