A 5-year-old girl died after she suffered a gunshot wound on Interstate 880 — roughly two years after a 1-year-old died on the same highway in a similar case.

Eliyanah Crisostomo, 5, was identified as the victim in a GoFundMe page set up by a family friend. She would have celebrated her own birthday on April 21. Santa Cruz police announced three arrests and recovered a discarded gun on Highway 17 after the shooting, however, authorities did not immediately confirm a connection between the bust and the girl's death.
