The incident happened just before 4 p.m. at Grant and Geary Streets where there was a report of a double shooting. Police say they located two male subjects suffering from injuries. Both were taken to San Francisco General Hospital. In a statement made by the 49ers, the team said that Pearsall was shot in the chest and was in "serious but stable condition."
Supervisor Aaron Peskin said just before 6 p.m. that Pearsall's condition was "non-life threatening." He confirms that both Pearsall and the suspect were shot in an attempted robbery. Authorities say the robbery suspect is in custody. In an evening press conference, the suspect was identified as a 17-year-old juvenile from Tracy.
