San Diego State, 3 other Mountain West schools heading to Pac-12 in 2026

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State University will officially join the Pac-12 Conference on July 1, 2026, the school announced Thursday. SDSU , along with Boise State, Colorado State, and Fresno State, will depart the Mountain West Conference to join Oregon State and Washington State in the Pac-12.In a news release on their official website, Pac-12 Conference officials said, 'Competition will begin for all conference sports in the 2026-27 academic year.

'SDSU President Adela de la Torre said, 'The move to the Pac-12 opens the door to exciting partnerships and financial growth, all of which will contribute to the success of our student-athletes and the vitality of our university community.
