San Antonio FC will seek to snap its two-game losing streak Saturday night against Indy Eleven.
San Antonio FC closed out its stretch of three games in eight days last Saturday with a 2-1 loss at Tulsa. It was the second loss in a row for San Antonio, something that had not happened since the end of the 2020 regular season. The club will try to avoid its first three-game regular-season losing streak since 2019 when it travels to Indy Eleven on Saturday night. That will not be easy against an Indy team that has won seven straight games in league play.
“If you look at the last two games, yes, the results haven’t been there, but I know the staff has been proud of the guys and I’ve been proud of the guys. We are going through a tough stretch with limited guys, but we’ve had young academy guys coming in and putting in shifts. Guys are playing out of position, but everyone is doing their job and working really hard.” The club has used seven different starting lineups in the last seven games and even called on players from the club’s academy.
