Lawyers for 31-year-old former billionaire and FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried are set to present their case Thursday in federal court in Manhattan. SBF has pleaded not guilty to seven counts of federal fraud and conspiracy.
Sam Bankman-Fried's defense lawyers are set to present their case Thursday in the trial of the founder and former CEO of now-bankrupt crypto exchange FTX.
Lead defense counsel Mark Cohen said Wednesday his client plans to take the stand to defend himself against prosecutors’ claims that he stole billions of dollars from customers and defrauded investors. Bankman-Fried, 31, has pleaded not guilty to seven counts of federal fraud and conspiracy related to the collapse of FTX and its sister trading house, Alameda Research, nearly a year ago.
