The cast list for Ryan Murphy's adaption of The Prom is, to put it mildly, impressive
—though the party Murphy is throwing at Netflix will have just a few more stars than any school dance., Murphy has cast his film take on the Tony-nominated Broadway musical—in which a group of washed-up theater types take up activism in a bid to revitalize their careers. The film will premiere on Netflix, which snatched Murphy from Fox and FXwill all take starring roles, withplaying “key roles” as well.
This seems like precisely the type of project Netflix was hoping for when it offered Murphy his massive, reportedly $300 million overall deal. The streamer has been working to secure bigger and bigger names for its offerings, and understandably so.
