'We’ve got a lot of business to take care of this year,' TreVeyon Henderson said of Ohio State's 2021 class.

Henderson lived up to the hype faster than anyone, but he has also probably had the hardest fall from grace thanks to a foot injury that kept him from building on his record-breaking Year 1. It is why 2023 is about him reminding everyone why there was so much excitement around him when he was part of a run of commitments in March 2020.

“I realized this class was special when we all signed on early signing day,” Jackson told cleveland.com. “We all signed at the same time and there weren’t guys holding out. We bonded very early. Coming here as a class with the goal of winning games” “We had a goal to be the best class and be the best version of ourselves and it’s not just on one side of the ball,” Tuimoloau said. “It’s on both sides. It’s nothing but just great work and competition going on. You can’t go from 10 to eight. You’ve gotta go 10 every time. That’s the one thing I really love about our class is our ability to compete and bring the best out of each other.”

But all of that is individual success. It is great to have because it helps keep alive some of the recent recruiting trends that have occurred in the Day era. But it doesn’t get you any of the hardware that will help people remember you. The result is an experienced team being led by a class that has always had the potential of bring Day a national title. So far they have shown flashes of that ceiling, but it has only resulted in a few good moments, but nothing a team can hang its hat on.
