The film features some standout performances from its impressive cast, and expertly creates a distinct sense of place with its portrayal of a seedy 1950s Los Angeles. The L.A. Confidential narrative also features some unexpected twists and turns.
In addition to the persistent love for the film that exists, however, L.A. Confidential could have placed on the recent AVOD chart due to a recent honor it received from Rotten Tomatoes. Rotten Tomatoes recently released its list of the top 300 movies of all time and, perhaps somewhat surprisingly, L.A. Confidential came in at number one.
