Mimosa Terrace, luxe new condo project, breaking ground next month near River Oaks
Citiscape relocated the sales center for Mimosa Terrace, a proposed 16-unit condo building at 2240 Mimosa Drive, to 2237 Welch Street.A midrise condominium building in a small pocket of residential properties in River Oaks is preparing to break ground.
The eight-story Mimosa Terrace when complete will have 16 residences at 2240 Mimosa, according to Houston-based Citiscape. The developer has moved its sales center for Mimosa Terrace to a nearby remodeled house at 2237 Welch in anticipation of construction starting in late May. The neighborhood south of San Felipe and east of Kirby Drive is attracting larger residential projects. Houston-based Pelican Builders is developing The Lexington, a 40-unit condo building at 2419 Mimosa after selling out The Revere at River Oaks, a 9-story project with 30 units on Welch Street.The development comes as sales of town houses and condos have declined from historic highs of April of 2022, according to Houston Association of Realtors.

A small number of people had to leave their homes in Wisconsin. Others were stacking sandbags Wednesday in Iowa in anticipation of flooding this weekend and early next week. Deep snow to the north is quickly melting this spring, flooding the Mississippi. It's predicted to be especially high along parts of Wisconsin, and to crest late Wednesday or early Thursday in La Crosse. In Iowa, forecasts predict the river will reach the third-highest level ever recorded when it crests Saturday in Dubuque.
