Ridley Scott is developing a new Alien movie, while Scott's production company also hopes to work with Tony Gilroy on a project some day.
Scott kicked off the Alien franchise in 1979 with Alien starring Sigourney Weaver. That was followed by James Cameron’s Aliens in 1986 and a number of other sequels, including 1992’s Alien 3 and 1997’s Alien Resurrection.
Scott returned to the franchise in 2012 when he made Prometheus, which was followed by 2017’s Alien: Covenant. He recently produced 2024’s, Scott is now developing a new Alien movie for 20th Century Studios. It’s not immediately clear if this will be the recently announced“We haven’t quite closed our deal with Fede, but we are going to, and he has an idea that we’re working on,” he said.
Given his busy schedule, Scott’s company, Scott Free Productions, is looking for A-list talent to helm a number of different projects that are being developed. Specifically, one name on the “company’s dream list of collaborators” is Andor’s “I know what I’m doing for the next three years,” Scott said. “They’re written and ready to go. So now we should be looking for big directors who can handle these kinds of budgets.
