Ramona’s niece, Akemi Hiatt, who told KOMO News her aunt is an expert in prosthetics, said Ramona has been volunteering in Gaza with the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund , which provides prosthetics for children. "She's had trouble sleeping. I know because she can tell me how often the bombs, the artillery shells, hit nearby," Miles told KOMO News.about Ramona on Oct. 18th, she has traveled dozens of miles closer to the border crossing with Egypt, yet her family says it is little consolation.
In the process, the family said Ramona is hunkered down at all hours of the day, but exact information is painstakingly slow to come in."There's such a delay with when the messages actually arrive, so we never know if it's in real-time or not," Erica added.
