The Warriors and 49ers will be competing for eyes Sunday evening.

Sports fans in the Bay Area will have their attention divided early Sunday evening.

The San Francisco 49ers take on the Dallas Cowboys for an NFC Divisional Round playoff game at 3:30 p.m. PT at Levi’s Stadium. Then at 5:30 p.m., the Golden State Warriors will tip off against the Brooklyn Nets at Chase Center. The Warriors requested to push back their start time until after the 49ers game, but the request was denied, league sources told this news organization. In order for a request to be approved, the league, the Nets and the networks broadcasting the telecast — NBC Sports Bay Area, YES Network and NBA TV, in this case — would need to sign off.

The Nets are on the last stop of a four-game West Coast road trip and expected to fly back to the East Coast right after Sunday’s game before taking on the 76ers in Philadelphia on Wednesday.
