Registration for the popular Bay Bridge Run opens at noon today.

opens at noon today. The 10k, which offers amazing views of the Chesapeake Bay, is scheduled for November 12. It’s the only day of the year that the eastbound span is open to those on foot.

Registration is $80 until June 30, and rises after that. For an additional $25, participants can have their race packet, with a bib, race shirt, and additional purchases, mailed to them before the race, to save them a trip to pick them up. The race welcomes both runners and walkers, as long as you can finish with an average 19 minutes per mile to meet the two-hour limit. An estimatedRunners and walkers will be split into waves of about 2,000 each, since the width of the eastbound bridge is only 26 feet. Past winners and those who can run with a pace of less than 13 minutes per mile can join waves A, B, and C. Everybody else will join waves D-H.William Preston Lane Jr.
