Two decades later, ABC 6 re-united Martin with some of the members of the task force on the 20th anniversary of the capture of Charles McCoy Jr.Early on investigators knew the Knisley shooting was linked to several others. The task force was made up of 10 law enforcement agencies, including The Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Columbus police, FBI and ATF
Columbus police officers assigned to the case obtained a 9mm Beretta from Charles' McCoy's father. Days later, forensic testing linked McCoy's Gun to several of the shootings including Knisley's homicide. Charles McCoy Jr. was taken into custody at a motel and was arraigned in a city courtroom the very next day.McCoy refused to speak to Las Vegas police, waiting to talk with Columbus law enforcement.
