The San Antonio Independent School District says it only experienced minor air conditioning problems as classes got underway this week. The News 4 I-Team has uncovered the district still hasn't resolved a maintenance backlog that was a major factor behind the outages.
As parents and students returned to Highland Hills Elementary Tuesday they were reminded of the AC problems last school year. "This morning when I dropped off my daughter it was still kind of hot in there. It wasn't as cool like it's supposed to be," Hernandez said. Records show Lanier High School had the most open work orders, 163. That was followed by Jefferson, Fox Tech and Burbank High Schools, then Stewart Elementary, which all had more than a hundred unresolved work orders.". . . We are working to reduce the number of duplicate work orders in the system, which can happen when multiple requests are made by multiple people."
