Monday's high is expected to reach 104 degrees in San Antonio with a heat index of up to 107. There will not be much relief the rest of the week. Tuesday and Wednesday will have highs of 103 and 101, respectively. As of Monday, the NWS was predicting a high of 99 on Thursday and 101 on Friday. Similar temps are expected Saturday and Sunday.If San Antonio reaches 104 on Monday, it will break the record of 101 set in 2018. Tuesday could match the 103-degree record set in 1989.
Meteorologists with the NWS said the region is experiencing this kind of heat much earlier than normal and may set a record for the earliest period on record for consecutive 100-degree days. Typically, San Antonio doesn't see this kind of heat until late June or early July.
