Rain in NYC to continue through Wednesday before high winds and temp drop, meteorologists say
Rain showers and warm air will continue to hover over the region for much of the day, dumping up to an inch of water on the city – though no major flooding is expected, according to the National Weather Service.
The wet weather comes after a night of heavy rain across the five boroughs, with a total of half an inch measured in Central Park. Showers will stick around until a front rolls in later Wednesday night, bringing heavier downpours, strong winds and a threat of thunderstorms. Starting around 4 p.m., winds will reach 15 to 25 miles per hour, with a potential for gusts up to 45 or 50 mph. The wind advisory will stay in effect until 7 a.m. Thursday, according to the NWS.
