Expect rainy weather throughout Wednesday and a transition to colder temperatures with potential snow on Thursday, Friday and into the weekend.

You will need the rain gear for today. This morning we have rain showers moving in from the southwest. Our temperatures are in the lower 30s, and we may have a few pockets of freezing rain for locations that remain just below freezing on the leading edge of the rain. We will continue to warm up this morning and reach a high around 41 today. Rain showers will be persistent most of the morning and midday, especially south/eastern parts of Ohio.

This afternoon the rain will move out to the east and out of Ohio. We may also get a little wintry mix, including some snow to mix in with the rain to the north, where it will be a little colder. The bulk of the event will be rain for Ohio, but it all comes down to the temperatures of your location while we have the moisture working through the area. Light winds out of the north today. Tonight we will remain mostly cloudy with a few flurries and temps dipping into the upper 20s. We end the workweek with a couple of chilly days including some snow returning. Thursday will be a quiet and chilly day -- very light winds with mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures around 37. We fall to 29 again Thursday night, then our next disturbance swings through on Friday. We will be cool again on Friday, with highs in the mid-upper 30s. We will be just cold enough for snow to fall for some light snow accumulations to elevated surfaces, but since our temperatures will be just above freezing most of the falling snow on the pavement will melt slowly. Slick spots are possible. The very cold air arrives for the weekend, with high temperatures around 30. Mostly cloudy on Saturday with flurries, and then becoming mostly sunny on Sunday. The wind chills will be in the teens on Saturday, especially late in the evening for the Ohio State Buckeyes taking on Tennessee Volunteers at The Shoe for the college football playoff
