Anchorage Police Chief-Designee Bianca Cross provided Assembly Members with an update and fielded questions regarding police worn body cameras on Wednesday.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Anchorage Police Chief-Designee Bianca Cross provided Assembly Members with an update regarding police worn body cameras on Wednesday, and with it she fielded a number of concerning questions.
“You’re asking when I might hypothetically release any sort of evidence before an investigation is complete?” Cross said. “And I can’t, I don’t have an example of when it would be appropriate for me to do so before any investigation is complete. What we’re after is preserving the integrity of the process of these investigations for what might happen in the future.”
“I can imagine when you have all the information you need, you want to communicate to the public, you want to make sure that they’re informed of what’s going on,” Perez-Verdia said. “And I think you can do that in many cases without jeopardizing the investigation.”
