Canadian police say a professor and two students have been stabbed during a class on “gender issues” at a university.

– A professor and two students were stabbed Wednesday during a class on “gender issues” at a university in the Canadian city of Waterloo and a suspect has been taken into custody, police said.

Nick Manning, associate vice-president of communications for the University of Waterloo, identified the suspect as a member of “the university community” but declined to confirm the individual is a student. He said two students and a professor were stabbed. Yusuf Kaymak, a student at University of Waterloo, told CTV News the attack happened in a gender studies class.
