COLUMBIA, Mo. — Cody Schrader set a new season high in rushing yards, an emerging defense registered six sacks and No. 20 Missouri secured a 34-12 homecoming victory over South Carolina.
A productive, 24-point first half for the Tigers yielded to a 10-point slog of a second half, which kept the result from feeling particularly convincing. Missouri outgained South Carolina by more than 200 yards in the first half but the visitors kept the ratio far more even in the second. South Carolina had the game’s first scoring opportunity with an early field goal try but missed the uprights by a significant margin — the start of a long day for the Gamecocks’ offense.
