Dozens of Palestinian supporters embarking on the Pennsylvania Capitol steps on Sunday re-committed to the cause despite rising tensions.
Luckily, the outcome of Sunday's rally was far different from the same mission just about two weeks before.
The last peaceful rally on Oct. 13 had turned to chaos. It was a moment Hamad will never forget after, she says, she stared down the barrel of the gun herself.“It’s not going to stop me at all. Even if he killed me, I'm not going to stop," Hamad said. “A lot of Palestinians are being murdered and killed every day, and they are still strong in their resolve for freedom. So, I think the least we can do is stand up here, as safe as we can be. I mean, this is as safe as it gets," said Simran Basnet, a rally-goer.
