The first day of fall camp is never something to overreact to, but a full practice is always informative on Ohio State's standing.Dan Hope and Andy Anders both felt it was a pretty middling day from Ohio State's quarterbacks, with Will Howard starting strong but fading as practice progressed, showing some of the same downfield accuracy issues that plagued him during spring practices. Devin Brown, as he did for much of the spring, looked the most consistent overall.
Ohio State’s young wide receivers stood out the most on the first day of practice, particularly Carnell Tate, Jeremiah Smith and Brandon Inniss. Tegra Tshabola looks slimmed down and showcased some of his athleticism on the offensive line, though it is hard to judge that position group before practices go full contact.
Gabe Powers stood out at linebacker while Sonny Styles took first-team reps at Will in a position battle with C.J. Hicks that will also play out over the course of fall camp.
