The New York senator used her CNN town hall Tuesday to flesh out other agenda items on her 2020 platform as well.
New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, one of many Democrats who have declared they will run for president in 2020, didn’t waste time attacking President Donald Trump during her televised town hall Tuesday night.
Gillibrand started the town hall by speaking mandarin Chinese, and then answered questions from the audience that CNN described as “Democratic” and “Independent” voters. She said now she represents “red, purple and blue” districts, and “I believe it’s why I can bring this country together.” She followed with a tweet:
“You need someone who’s going to be brave enough to bring this country together,” Gillibrand said. “Brave enough to take on all the challenges that divide us.”
