Premier Scott Moe told reporters on Wednesday that he and other MLAs have been approached by people in their riding, supporting the province’s pronoun policy, despite Moe admitting there was no such call in his riding prior to the policy coming forward.
When pressed for evidence of the public reaching out prior to the policy’s introduction and during the court hearing, Moe said that the policy outlines early consultation and that his legal team will be presenting further evidence at court. Moe said that he’s heard conversations on different sides of the issue, but that the “vast majority” are positive and supportive of the change.“Largely the advice that we’ve been receiving, not from one parent or a few parents, but many, many constituents across the province are put in the wording of the policy.”
